Ranji Trophy, one of India’s oldest domestic cricket tournaments, is contested by state and regional cricket bodies. In its 88 years history, 19 clubs have taken home the championship, but Mumbai arising as the most successful team with 41 victories.

The Ranji Trophy competition has grown to be an essential component of Indian cricket since its inception in the 1934–1935 season. This Tournament is actually the only world-class competition that has survived World War II.

According to Faiz Fazal, who guided Vidarbha to consecutive title victories in 2017–18 and 2018–19, “this is one tournament all of us look forward to,” as reported by New India Express.

Highest Team Total:

We all knows that when a team works well anything can be done in this world. In Ranji Trophy, the record of highest team score is belongs to the Hyderabad of 944/6d in the year 1993/94. Hyderabad scores this score with the help of two double centuries while a certain Maturi Sridhar hit a 366 off 523 balls. In the end, a draw was made in the face.

Lowest Team Total:

surprisingly, Hyderabad holds the record for the lowest team total in the Ranji Trophy. With the help of Deepak Chahar’s 8/10, Rajasthan defeated Hyderabad only on 21 runs in November 2010. Not a single batsman was able to score in double figures.

Most runs in career:

Most runs in a single season:

In a single Ranji Trophy season, Indian legend VVS Laxman set the highest run total of 1415 runs in just five innings. The Test specialist scored an outstanding 108.84 during the 1999–2000 season.

Most wickets:

Rajinder Goel is the slow-moving, orthodox Indian left-arm cricket player who claims the record for most wickets taken in the history of the Ranji Trophy. In his career, he claimed 637 wickets between 1958 and 1985.. He played for four different teams which is Patiala, Southern Punjab, Delhi, and Haryana during this time.

Highest wickets in a single season:

Ashutosh Aman, who holds the record for most wickets in a single Ranji Trophy season with 68 wickets in 14 innings while representing the team Bihar in the 2018/19 season.
